The pictures on these pages are either Local or Holiday pictures that do not appear in the walks.
If I remember correctly this walk was done after a few days of quite heavy rain making some of the paths quite slippy.
White Scar , Whibarrow from where we parked the car near Gilpin Bridge. Our path would take us to the farmhouse then left along a bridleway
This is normally a small trickle, however after the recent rain it was quite full. Just past here we left the bridleway to start our climb up onto the ridge
Gaining height and looking down to the A590 and the flooded fields
A close-up of Arnside and the Knott
On the ridge and looking N'wards to the summit. It was quite a breezy day and the clouds gave a mixture of views as they in turn covered and uncovered the higher fells
Although we saw a few rainbows we never got any rain on us
Looking back along the ridge
Nearly there!
Edith shelters behind the cairn
Looking north to Red Screes, Wansfell and Caudale Moor
To the NW and the Langdales
Long winter shadows on the summit
Our route back took us through Beck Head and Mill Side
The 10th of January and this chappie was still in a celebratory mode
More flooded fields on our return to the car
We walked back along the "old" road, now little used.
Finally, back to our start point.
