A riverside walk from our holiday cottage to St. Catherine's church
June 4th 2007
Wha House Farm. We stayed here for a week and enjoyed every single moment. I set off from the farm to walk the short distance down the road to the Woolpack Inn where I went to the river.
An enormous Foxglove. It stood well over 6 feet tall
The Eskdale YHA
It was only about 8-30am so a little early to stop here
Sorry....but it was taken in June and for the life of me I can't remember
Could never forget this place though. The delightful Doctor Bridge
The riverside path along the Esk
and now with the river in view
Looking towards Birker Force which flows down from Low Birker Tarn on the plateau above
St. Catherine's Church. What a setting
My return from the church was just a route reversal but with scenery like there is in Eskdale that was no problem
A glimpse of Slight Side and Scafell which we went up the following day
Walking back along the riverside with Border End in the distance
Back to Doctor Bridge
Finally back to the farm and cottage where Edith had been making friends with one of the 20+ dogs on the farm.
