It was a bit of a dull, murky day today so we decided on a visit to the Oban Rare Breeds farm in Glencruitten which is just above Oban. The tour of the farm itself was a good walk as it was well spread out as you will see. Edith was in her glory today, her love of animals of all breeds is enormous. After the farm visit which lasted in the region of 3 - 4 hours we drove down into Oban, a place I could never tire of.
Now please don't expect me to put names to any of the animals, these are obviously some breed of goat.
Hmmm......yeah, well a curly sorta sheep maybe
Looks a friendly sort of chappie
Especially if there's food about
OK, well we were in the sheep & goats section so I'll go for some sheep
A little bit of hill climbing now
They all seemed to know who was carrying the food
And some took exception to having to wait there turn.
The farm is in a beautiful spot and quite extensive
I know what your thinking -- "Isn't he a dear" or should that be deer.
Now even I can read!.....Haggis & Neeps. ( Neeps is a traditional accompaniment to Haggis......we Sasenachs know it a Swedes)
This picture gives some idea of the size of the farm area
From the farm we drove the short distance to Oban
The promenade at Oban with McCaig's Tower above. For further info on the folly click HERE. It will open in a new page
There's always something going on whenever we are there, the place is always busy
Today there was these two beautiful sailing ships
Unfortunately for us they would stay under motor power until they left the harbour
