The pictures below were taken on the 3rd December 2008 when we decided to have a ride up the Lune Valley.

Our first stop was at the wonderful Crook O'Lune near Lancaster where we went for a short walk around the bend of the river. This picture is taken from near the car park with Ingleborough in the distance.

A look over to the wind farm on Caton Moor.

Although the trees have now lost there leaves the reflections were still quite good.

It is now possible to see the large house on the opposite bank.

Walking back to the car park the road bridge is reflected in the Lune.

Likewise the old railway bridge which is now a cycletrack/bridleway/footpath.

Back at the icy car park to find Woodie's is open. Time for a cuppa before we move on.

Our next stop was at Hornby for a picture of Hornby Castle over the River Wenning

Looking the other way the River Wenning flows downstream to join the River Lune.

Having driven further up towards Ingleton I pulled over to get this picture of Gragareth.

And the unmistakeable profile of Ingleborough.

Almost at the junction with the A65 now and a another shot of Ingleborough

And in close up.

Our next stop was at Kirkby Lonsdale at the Devil's Bridge

The River Lune from Devils Bridge
