The pictures below were sent in to me by John Holland. They are from a walk he did on the 25th January 2009 to Darwen Tower. I'm not familar the area so John as kindly sent a map of the route.

Water Works House 1897.
Darwen Tower. Built to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Victoria and completed in 1898. You can climb up the internal staircase to the viewing platforms.
