After visiting my doctors for my 8th Gold injection we decided to have a run out to the Dales. The pictures below come from this trip.

As we were passing the Crook O'Lune near Lancaster we decided to pop in there on the way.

Close up Ingleborough. I find it hard to pick between Ingleborough and Pen y ghent as a favourite. I've certainly been up Ingleborough more times.

The Crook O'Lune

Getting nearer!

We are now on the Ingleton - Hawes road with a view of Twistleton Scar End with Gragareth behind. Gragareth at 2057' lays claim to be the highest point in Lancashire. Green Hill just over a mile to the north is listed in the "List of English Counties by highest point" at 2060' but actually lays on the Lancashire/Cumbria border. If the men in suits hadn't pinched Coniston Old Man from us there would have been no argument!!

Whernside....Now this isn't in my list of favourites. although when coupled with Gragareth as a sort of Kingsdale Horseshoe it does offer two fine ridge walks. The scar on the fellside towards the left side is part of the YDNP 3 Peaks route.

Ingleborough from the same spot.

Ribblehead Viaduct, part of the Settle-Carlisle railway. More info HERE

Time for a cuppa and a bacon bun.

Just managed to get this picture as I was waiting for my bun.

Looking over Selside towards Pen y ghent

Looking N'wards to Cam Fell. Look very carefully and you might just see the track of the Pennine Way just right of centre.

We parked up in Horton for a short walk around the village.

The River Ribble

The cafe....the traditional starting point of the YDNP 3 Peaks challenge. Shut on Tuesdays!!!!  :-(

St Oswalds church and P-y-g

Edith makes friends with "Jack" as we return to the car.
