After a morning spent catching up with the pictures from our backlog of walks by early afternoon when the day had brightened up we set off for a short walk and a visit to the cafe at Glasson Dock.
The dock at Glasson was completed in 1787. Built because it was increasingly difficult for ships to get upriver to Lancaster it was also connected to the then Lancaster Canal which ran from Preston to Kendal in 1826.
