Another short walk with familar views but today clothed in a wintry mantle. So without further ado here we go.
Yes we are at Conder Green for a short gentle walk to Glasson Dock but it's awhile since I say the banks of the tidal River Con coated in ice. I'm not sure how cold it as been, certainly not as low as many areas, today it was -4.0C according to the car thermo but I'm never sure how accurate they are.
Twice a day this small river will fill with salty water as the the tide comes in.
Our path is once aagain the old railway line now a bridleway courtesy of Dr Beeching.
A look back to the snowy slopes of Clougha Pike
We took a short cut through the grounds of Christ Church at Glasson
To get onto the Glasson branch of the Lancaster Canal.
I wouldn't advise anybody to test the thickness along this length. These boats are lived on and the warmth off them means the ice is very thin.
Glasson marina and no chance of reflections today
Confused swans
We should have taken some bread 3 chilly coots having a walk
Even the swans were finding the ice a little slippy in places
The engine cooling system from this boat created an area of clear water
Even the salt water dock had a partial covering of ice
Bleasdale Moors as we return
