Having had very little sleep for the last 3 nights simply due to a cold I was wanting a bit of a walk to see if it would clear the congestion. Edith however wasn't too happy about me being out in the cold but eventually agreed on a walk along the River Lune from the Crook O'Lune. When we arrived there we found that neither of us had bothered to put the walking boots in the car. The ground was far too wet to consider doing it in trainers so we settled on a run out in the car to get a few pictures.
One of my favourite views. Looking up the Lune valley from the Crook O'Lune with Ingleborough in the distance.
A look over the river to the wind farm on Caton Moor.
From the Crook O'Lune we drove up the valley to Kirkby Lonsdale where we left the car near the Devil's Bridge to walk into the town.
The Sun Inn at Kirkby Lonsdale. A 17th Century traditional inn.
St Mary's Church at Kirkby Lonsdale dates back to Norman times.
The views from Ruskin's View.
Just time for a quick cuppa before we move on.
Twistleton Scar End as we make our way to Ribblehead.
Whernside and the Ribblehead viaduct.
Blea Moor
A glimpse of Pen y ghent and Plover Hill with what looks like an inversion in Ribblesdale
We decided to drive down Ribblesdale to Horton and then onto to Settle but unfortunately we were caught up in the valley fog.
Ingleborough from Newby Moor near High Bentham
Leck Fell and Gragareth.
Ingleborough as the mist thins.
