24th April 2012
I was by myself today as Edith was visiting her brothers and still having a bit of bother with joint pain. After some work on the website I decided to have a short drive to Holme for a short walk along the Northern Reaches of the canal. After parking the car I set off along the canal first northwards for a while before returning and then southwards. Most of the pictures are self explanatory and therefore have no captions.
Farleton Fell and Knott as I make my way along the canal northwards.
A look back.
Looking over Whitbarrow to the Coniston fells.
So graceful.
As I set off along the southward leg I noticed this nesting pair.
Approaching Holme.
I noticed this fella as I took the picture of the canoe. It was on the towpath pecking in the grass.
Not sure what it was it found but it went down the hatch!
Almost back at where the road splits the canal.
And a couple of shots of the nesting pair.
