The purpose of this section is to show various pictures from Cumbria which do not normally appear on our walks pages. They may have been taken on a day out or maybe on the way to or back from one of our walks or sent in by one of our readers. Either way I hope that you will enjoy them.

Below are some photographs from the Coniston area apart from one. The first five were sent to me from Linda & Mick Joyce from Kent who are regular visitors to the lake District. The remainder are some I took on the 31st March 2008 on our way home from Tarn Hows.

By coincidence we had stopped at Coniston yesterday on our way home from Tarn Hows. Having parked the car near the school we walked down to the waters edge passing over Bannock Stone Bridge from where this view of Conoston Old Man was taken.
