The purpose of this section is to show various pictures from Cumbria which do not normally appear on our walks pages. They may have been taken on a day out or maybe on the way to or back from one of our walks or sent in by one of our readers. Either way I hope that you will enjoy them.
1st September 2008
Edith and I were both at the doctors first thing and then at 10am we had to pick up the new car. When the day started to brighten about 11:30am I decided it was time to introduce said car to the delights of Lakeland so we set off for a drive to Glenridding with a couple of stops along the way.
Taken from the A592 Kirkstone road looking down on the Troutbeck Tongue and Troutbeck Park with the western leg of the Kentmere Horseshoe behind.
Taken from the small car park just below the top of the Kirkstone Pass showing Brotherswater with Place Fell behind.
There were places to spare at Cow Bridge car park so we decided to walk up as far as Hartsop Hall.

Angletarn Pikes and Brock Crags across Brotherswater
Taken into the sun, Middle Dodd and High Hartsop Dodd

We are now on the shores of Ullswater at Glenridding looking towards Silver Crag and Birk Fell. I believe the fell in the distance is Gowbarrow Fell.
