The purpose of this section is to show various pictures from Cumbria which do not normally appear on our walks pages. They may have been taken on a day out or maybe on the way to or back from one of our walks or sent in by one of our readers. Either way I hope that you will enjoy them.

We left home on a dull morning to make our way to the holiday cottage we had booked at Hawes Farm near Ennerdale Bridge in the western Lake District. On the way we stopped off at Silecroft beach and at Ravenglass. Here are a few pictures from our journey.
A very dull morning at Morecambe as we set off.
Black Combe from the beach at Silecroft.
Not the best of days for a walk along the beach but we both love this place and always stop off here if passing.
Black Combe from Silecroft village
Ravenglass is another place we always like to visit. It is home to the La'al Ratty
The Bath House at Walls Castle (Glannaventa) at Ravenglass. This is one of the largest surviving Roman structures in England.
The main street (nearly the only street) at Ravenglass
Black Combe from Ravenglass
Looking over the estuary to the nature reserve
We have just arrived at Hawes Farm and I am looking down the lane towards Herdus and Great Borne in the cloud.
Hawes Farm. No longer a working farm. Owl Barn is on the left. The top storey was converted into a holiday cottage with the ground floor being retained for storage.
