The purpose of this section is to show various pictures from Cumbria which do not normally appear on our walks pages. They may have been taken on a day out or maybe on the way to or back from one of our walks or sent in by one of our readers. Either way I hope that you will enjoy them.
26th May 2009
After visiting my Doctors for my 10th gold injection we decided to have a short run out and a very short walk. We left the car near Milnthorpe Bridge and had a walk down the River Bela.
The River Bela from Milnthorpe Bridge
We just followed the bank of the river downstream.
There is a weir somewhere around here but as it was high tide it was underwater
Whitbarrow
This was about as far as we went before turning around. The path ahead is a bit uneven and not for my knees today. We are looking down the Kent estuary to Sandside.
Arriving back at the bridge we crossed the road for a short walk in Dallam Park.
Walk over we moved on to Arnside for Fish & Chips.
Whitbarrow in close up over the railway embankment
Across the estuary to Hampsfell
