The purpose of this section is to show various pictures from Cumbria which do not normally appear on our walks pages. They may have been taken on a day out or maybe on the way to or back from one of our walks or sent in by one of our readers. Either way I hope that you will enjoy them.
17th March 2011
I am managing to walk around the house now without the aid of the crutches and feel confident enough to walk a short distance outside using a walking pole for a bit of support. Fed up of being in the house I decided to have a drive around Sandside, Arnside & Silverdale for a few pictures. They were meant to go on Facebook but as they turned out a bit better than I thought considering the weather I have decided to share them with a wider audience (hopefully ;-) )
A look across the estuary of the River Kent at Sandside towards Whitbarrow.
Looking down the estuary to a brightening sky over Arnside.
The Kent estuary.
We are now at Arnside.
A look down Morecambe Bay from the Silverdale road.
The shore near Far Arnside.
Looking towards home.
Looking towards Humphrey Head and Hampsfell from the shore at Silverdale. Actually we are not now in Cumbria but I'm not going to argue for the sake of a few hundred yards.
Far Arnside & Heathwaite from Silverdale
Silverdale salt marsh.
