Route: Car - Arnside Knott - Heathwaite - Hollins Farm - Arnside Tower - Car

It hadn't been our intention to go for a walk today as Edith wanted to catch up with the garden but it was such a nice morning we decided that a short walk up Arnside Knott would be OK. It was a gorgeous morning when we parked up but unfortunately very hazy so there were no good views.

As we were getting ready we heard the whistle of a steam train. Unfortunately I hadn't time to zoom in before it was out of view. It was probably on it's way to Ravenglass to link up with a trip on the La'al Ratty.

Looking down to Arnside Tower farm through the haze or mist.

Walking through the woods on the eastern flank of the Knott.

Usually we walk up through the woods to the summit but this morning we walked up the path from Red Hills to keep the views. Good idea....pity about the views though!....Looking acoss to Grange and Hampsfell.

Looking down to the viaduct with Whitbarrow just visible through the haze.

Arnside Knott

Before descending we walked over to the SE edge of the Knott to look down to Arnside Tower and Farm. This was taken into the sun but it was so hazy that it didn't make that much difference.

At least the "Lovers Tree" is always there to get a picture of.

Looking down to Arnside from what is known as the "Viewpoint".....nuff said!

Looking down to New Barns and across to Grange

Looking to the wooded Heathwaite with the faint outline of Humphrey Head behind

On one of the many paths through Heathwaite

Looking down to Hollins Farm from Heathwaite

No it isn't "Charlie" from yesterdays local walk but one of the locals at Hollins Farm.

Snowdrops at Hollins Farm

Hollins Farm

Shouldn't ewe be a little further north?

Looking back to Heathwaite

Crossing the field paths to the Caravan path.
