This is a walk that we did on the 4th September 2003 from Ingleton to Ingleborough. From the summit we returned via the Hill Inn, Chapel-le-Dale and the Twistleton End of Whernside. As there are over 60 pictures I have done the walk in 2 parts. At the bottom of this page you will see a link which will take you back to the first part if you wish.

Soon we were on our way again. First a short walk down the road to Chapel-le-Dale

and then the farm track which would take us towards Ellerbeck

Don't know about the "Boggard of Hurtle Pott" but it looks scary to me!

The farm track to Ellerbeck seen in the distance. Our route would turn off to the left just before the farm.

Just past here we turned off to walk across the moor to Twistleton Scar End

Walking across the moor to Twistleton Scar End

There are many areas of limestone pavement where the path weaves about

On Twistleton Scar End.....and I think that is part of the Ingleton "Waterfall Walk" in front, probably the River Twiss side.

Dropping down off the Scar End we picked up section of the waterfall walk where it crosses from Twiss to Doe.

Approaching Oddie's Lane with Ingleborough in the distance.

A close up of White Scar caves, not looking to busy today

We did consider returning to Ingleton down the Doe leg of the waterfall walk but decided against it. Instead we crossed the Doe and made our way to Skirwith.

The stepping stones across the River Doe near Beezleys

The quarry at Skirwith. A huge chunk of fellside as been removed for many uses.

From here it was just a 5 minute stroll down the road back to Ingleborough.
