This was a walk we did on the 19th March 2007 around the Glasson Dock area
We left the car at the Conder Green picnic site and walked along the old railway line to Glasson Dock
Looking to Glasson Dock from the railway line
Nearly at the dock and looking back to Clougha Pike with a dusting of snow
The freshwater Marina at Glasson
The saltwater dock with the lock gates on the far right
As we left Glasson on the Lancashire Coastal Way we had this view across the River Lune to the Power Stations at Heysham with Black Combe behind them
Further to the right the snow covered Coniston Fells
Whilst to the left was the low tongue of Sunderland Point
Walking along Marsh Lane towards Crook Farm
Two youngsters cuddling together for some warmth
Approaching Crook Farm with the Daffodils in full bloom
A close up of the tip of Sunderland Point
Crook Farm
Looking towards Clougha Pike
The lighthouse on Plover Scar
We followed the LCW round to the ruins of Cockersand Abbey
From the Abbey we followed the LCW to Bank Houses from where we made our way back to Glasson on quiet country lanes.
We made our way back to the Glasson spur of the Lancaster Canal
The Church at Glasson Dock
Back to the freshwater Marina.
The blue boat at the far end is the Ba-Ba-Gee , once a popular cafe, now sadly in a state of disrepair
Heading back to Conder Green. The path from Glasson to Lancaster once an old railway line as been resurfaced as part of a Sustran project for the use of walkers, cyclists and in places horseriders.
There were plenty of Swans about, this picture shows only a few.
Back to the car at a deserted Conder Green.
