It was very windy this morning with the threat of some rain so we decided to give any thoughts of a walk a miss and to see what tomorrow brings. Around 2pm though the wind had dropped considerably and the sun poked itself through the clouds so we thought we would have a short walk down to Half Moon Bay and across the Barrows with a return through the village.
As we walked over Smithy Hill to Half Moon Bay Edith noticed these white "bluebells" at the kerbside.
Walking across the field at Half Moon Bay towards what used to be Heysham Head.
Entering what used to be part of the Heysham Head entertainment complex, this part is now owned by the National Trust.

And finally...."The Old Hall"
Another of Heysham's fine old buildings is Heysham Old Hall, situated a few minutes walk from the village in what is known as 'Higher Heysham'. Heysham Old Hall was completed in 1598. A stone in the east gable bears this date, and beneath it is another stone twice inscribed with the initials R E alongside a Tudor rose. Evidence suggests that the building was occupied by Robert Edmondson. (The Edmondson family continued to occupy the building until late in the 17th century).
