The pictures below were taken on the 14th January 2009 after I had paid a visit to the Dentist. They come from a walk from Thornton Road to the Stone Jetty.
The "new" groyne at Thornton Road makes a sheltered berth for these small boats

The Yacht Clubs race office is looking a little tired.
Generations of local kids have sat upon this Limestone "Horse". It was saved by public demand when the promenade near Lord Street was redeveloped.
The RNLI Inshore Lifeboat Station.
No Lakeland fells in view today.
Words fail me!!!....It's supposed to be a representation of the Lakeland Fells.....Scrap it!!
The new beach in dry and windy condtitions blows across the promenade. These boards are the councils solution to the problem. Let's wait and see.

The old Harbour Band Arena / Arena Leisure site is being cleared in readiness for landscaping.
(At the time of creating this webpage 22/01/09 the site is now cleared and soil is being brought in)
