The pictures below were sent in by Colin & Joan Ainsworth. They are of a walk around the Feizor area of the Yorkshire Dales on the 29th June 2008. The route they took closely follows that taken by me on Walk 177.
The walk starts near the Scar Top Garage on the B6480 into Settle. You can just make out the faint outline of Pendle Hill on the horizon.
Lovely grassy tracks as they head towards Smearsett Scar.
Approaching the delightful hamlet of Feizor. The path you can see heading towards the woods will be the route ahaed
A few locals chewing the cud
Feizor
Lovely limestone cottages.....turn left here!
A look back to Feizor. The track they are on is part of the Pennine Bridleway.
From the summit of the track a look towards a dark Pen y ghent
And in close up
Ingleborough from the stile that they took down alongside Wharfe wood.
The path drops down through the fields to join a path running towards Austwick
A look across towards Norber
And down to Austwick.
Peek a boo!!
Passing Wood House on the way back.
No getting lost on this narrow walled lane
Decisions!, Decisions! but we are almost back to the car.
Many thanks to Colin & Joan for once again supplying these pictures
