The purpose of this section is to show various pictures from Cumbria which do not normally appear on our walks pages. They may have been taken on a day out or maybe on the way to or back from one of our walks or sent in by one of our readers. Either way I hope that you will enjoy them.

The pictures below are from the return leg of our trip to Corney Fell.
If you haven't seen the pictures from our outward trip it may be best to view those first. Click HERE to view them.
We carried on down the Corney Fell road to join the A595 near Waberthwaite
Looking over to Stainton Tower which I believe was once used as a kind of either lighthouse or "leading in" marker for the port of Ravenglass.
Looking to Scafell in centre picture.
Looking towards Muncaster and the Drigg dunes.
And to the Isle of Man
Having joined the A595 we headed south to one of our favourite spots with this view of Black Combe.
And to the south of Black Combe lies Great Knott and Pohouse Bank
One of our favourite spots....Silecroft beach....
....where Edith goes beachcombing for suitable stones for her garden
Looking south along the beach.
We then followed the A595 untii we reached Grizebeck where we took the A5092. The only problem that we had was getting by an overturned milk tanker near Whicham. The road was later closed for 7 hours. Fortunately the female driver only suggered minor injuries.
Great Burney
We turned off the A5092 to visit the village of Spark Bridge
On leaving Spark Bridge we joined the A590
Calling in at Newby Bridge on the way back
The River Leven from Newby Bridge
Looking to Summer House Knott from the bridge
The Swan Hotel
