Walk No.22

Grange Fell and Great Crag

Date:          26th March  2007                    Distance:    7.75 miles                Ascent:    2124 feet                Time:    6h 30m

Weather:          Fine and sunny.

Route:             We left the car in a small lay-by on the Borrowdale road near Grange.

From the lay-by we walked back down the road a short way to take a path into Troutdale.

Greatend Crag through the hazy sunlight from Troutdale. Further along this path we turned off to the left to take a rising path to the left of the crag.

Dave on Brund Fell. From here we took a path to the top of the Watendlath to Rosthwaite bridleway and then a path towards Dock Tarn.

Dave on Great Crag. From here we dropped back down to the Dock Tarn path and down to Watendlath.

Watendlath Beck and Bridge. After a pot of tea and a scone at the cafe we followed the beck down.

The path follows the beck down the valley

Decision time!  We took the path to Lodore, High Lodore that is and then back along the road to the car.
