We left the car at Eskdale Green and walked up Giggle Alley over to Miterdale

As we entered the forest we crossed this old bridge.

Looking back down the bridleway from a break in the forest.

Edith takes a break on a memorial seat to Neil Cannon (Canny). We found something near this spot....any claimants?

We left the forest at this gate and turned right up the ridge to Whin Rigg.

Looking back down along the ridge to Irton Pike

Our path would keep us close to the edge to keep the magnificent views

The main path runs between the tarns to Illgill Head but who would want to walk there unless perhaps in bad visibility
