Date: 8th July 2007 Distance: 6.5 miles Ascent: 1735 feet Time: 4h 00m
Weather: A fine and sunny day. We just needed the fleeces on for a short time between Carrock Fell & High Pike.
Route: Stone Ends - Carrock Fell - High Pike - Driggeth Mine - Carrock Beck - Stone Ends
We parked the car near Stone Ends farm at the side of the unfenced road
Our path would go through the bracken from mid-left in the general direction of the tree on the skyline.

Looking across the Solway Firth to SW Scotland and Criffel
Edith takes a breather on High Pike. Not many tops can boast of such a fine seat.
From High Pike we took a path towards Low Pike for a short distance before taking a small path down to the old mine road which we crossed to take a track down through the old Driggeth Mine.
Looking down the old Driggeth workings with Carrock Fell behind
The path follows Carrock Beck down to the road near Calebreck. The North Pennines are in the distance.
Looking back up the valley towards High Pike
As we got nearer the road Great Mell Fell appeared from behind the slopes of Carrock Fell
Back to the road now. The road fords Carrock Beck with a footbridge alongside it.
A liitle further along we came across a group of ponies with foals
nearly back to the car now and feeling like a pint!
I couldn't drive by The Mill Inn twice in one day!!!!
