Route: | A out and back walk along the Lancaster Canal from Galgate |
Edith had spent the night at our daughters who had been to the dentist yesterday for treatment under sedation so it was after 11am before we could get away. As I was still getting some pain from the arthritic hip we decided for a flat walk along the canal to the south of Galgate. For those who like bridges and reflections of which I am one it was a perfect day.

We were parked to the left of this bridge on the Galgate - Glasson Dock road.
Approaching the marina at Galgate
Galgate Bridge
The marina at Galgate
We are now at the start of the Glasson branch of the canal which as been drained for I assume work on the locks.
It had been a cold night. The fields were still frost covered out of the sun.
A wild Rhino at Galgate?......Nah....But Edith thought it looked a bit like one!

Back to Galgate marina.
This is the boat we saw earlier chugging along the canal.
Nearly back now.
There's the car and a couple of curious locals.
And finally.....Edith makes more new friends.
