I was by myself today as Edith was visiting her brother. It was such a glorious morning that any thoughts of not walking were quickly discarded and I was on my way to the Lakes. As I set off I didn't have a particular route in mind, I just wanted a walk with the chance of some decent views without aggravating my current problems. As I passed the Low Wood Hotel the views up Great Langdalec were simply stunning but thoughts of going there and staying low didn't appeal. I therefore made my way to Rydal and left the car at Pelter Bridge car park to do a circuit of Rydal Water and Grasmere.

Grasmere
I'm at the end of the Terrace Route now. My path went down through Deerbolt Wood to the shore of Grasmere
I have just left the path along the waters edge and have a short walk along the road to Grasmere
Stopping here for a cuppa on the way. I prefer it here to the hustle and bustle of Grasmere
Shooting into the sun at Loughrigg
OK!!.....What happened to Grasmere?.....I'm now on the old "coffin track" to Rydal. The pictures of Grasmere will be on soon in the "Visions of Cumbria" section
The "Coffin Stone" or "Resting Stone". Used for resting the coffins on whilst be transported from Ambleside to Grasmere.
