Not a walk in the true sense of the word but I was keen to try out the new camera. As it turned out I shouldn't really have bothered as the weather was aginst any sort of photography. Anyway it gave me chance to play about with it before we go further afield.

We parked the car near the canal just before Garstang. This is the view towards "Nick Nook" , you can just see the cairn on the top.

After heavy rain the towpath here was a bit wet and slippy

A look back to Nicky Nook

The marina at Garstang

It was just past these boats that we turned around

Is it brightening?

Some curious youngsters look across to us. Probably thinking "he must be crazy taking pictures in these conditions"

Almost back at the car. From here we drove to Glasson Dock for a walk around and a bite to eat.  I didn't notice the helicopter flying by as I took the picture.

Looking across the River Lune to Sunderland Point

Heysham Power Stations.........16 years I worked here.......enjoyed a few days

Boats in Glasson Dock

Dark skies over the freshwater marina

The tidal banks of the River Lune. Clougha Pike should be in the background if you could see it!

Finally back to the car and a close up of Sunderland Point

Next Walk:     9th March 2008 -- A Ribblehead ramble

Last Walk:     4th March 2008 -- A circuit of Rydal Water and Grasmere
