I was still feeling very achey (should start the new medication tomorrow) so it was only a fairly easy walk today from Levens Bridge.
We followed the path upwards on the east side of the River Kent.
The path seen on the opposite side would be our return path.
Bagot goats
The Avenue
Taken from where we left the park this shows the A590 crossing the river
The old limestone seat
Crossing the A590
Our next path
A bridge but no canal. Stretches of the old canal have been infilled from here to Kendal.
Sedgwick House
The towpath near Sedgwick. This section of the canal is still there but drained
In fact near the Sedgwick Aquaduct there is a footpath across the old canal
Sedgwick from the Aquaduct
Walking along the infilled canal towards Horse Park Bridge
Under or around? Either way you'll stay dry
Going through Larkrigg Wood the canal bed is again visible.
Approaching Larkrigg Hall bridge where we will leave the canal and take a path don to the River Kent.
Larkrigg
The woods by the river were blanketed with Wood Anenomes.....I couldn't resist having a play with the Macro.
The River Kent
The footbridge at Wilson Place. Normally we cross the river here but today we stayed on this side.
Passing through Wilson Place
Walking under the A590 near Park Head
Park Head.....From here we took a path down the west side of Levens Park
The river from Levens Bridge
My kind of sign!!!!!!!
Levens Hall
Hmmm.......I'm almost sure I've seen her somewhere else.
Macro time.....Snakes Head Fritillary............I hope!
And finally......Levens Bridge
