I had started taking my new medication on Thursday and since then had felt tired and lethargic. Now I know I'm no big deal when it comes to doing jobs around the house but not wanting to go walking is something else! To cap it all I received a call from the Rheumatology Clinic this morning to say could I defer taking the medication until after I've had a Lung function test which could be a fortnight off. This all sort of got me going and I thought "bugger it, I'm going for a short walk and see how I feel".
Having parked the car near Crag Foot I took these pictures ....Moss House Farm
Crag Foot
We set off along the Lancashire Coastal Way which follows this embankment near Quaker's Stang. The little lump ahead is Heald Brow which we would walk up
Looking across to Jenny Browns point
A look back to where we had come from as we walked up Heald Brow
We dropped down from Heald Brow to take a path through Woodwell
The pond in Woodwell
Scout Wood
Wild Garlic in abundance. The air was rich with the smell.
Woodwell Cottage
Forget Me Nots
Bluebells
A limestone protrusion makes a splendid natural rock garden
Silverdale Village
We walked through the village and took a route down to The Cove passing the church on our way
The Cove
Walking back towards Siverdale past Bank House Farm
Mkaing friends with one of the locals
Grange over Sands and Hampsfell from Gibraltar Farm
Gibraltar Farm
The old kiln in Jack Scout
Jack Scout nature reserve
The old "training wall" near Jack Scout. These walls were built to guide or "train" the channels away from the shoreline to stop erosion. Now in a sad state of disrepair.
Jenny Browns point
Coastal erosion.......Global Warming or a natural cycle?.......All I know is that acres of saltmarsh have disappeared from around here
Walking back along the embankment
Good deed for the day......We found this ewe on her back at the bottom of the embankment wedged against the fence. A few tugs had her soon upright and her lamb busy feeding.
And finally......back to the car.
