After our walk at Levens Park earlier we had been intending to go into Levens Hall for a cuppa and cake. Unfortunately the hall was closed so we decided to return to Morecambe for a short walk along the promenade and onto the Stone Jetty. As I had the camera with me I decided to take a few pictures along the way.

The RNLI station....this houses the Inshore Lifeboat. The Hovercraft is housed in temporary accomadation at present but there are plans to build a new station near to the Midland Hotel.

Warton Crag from the lifeboat station

What on earth the local council were thinking of when they had this commissioned eludes me. It is supposedly the view across the bay. It is not to scale, it is incorrectly named but the worst thing is.....it hides the real thing!!

Central Beach

Central Beach.....more sand was placed here just before Christmas. It is a big improvement on the old foreshore. The only bad thing about it is that on windy days the sand is blown onto the promenade. For some reason (probably the Health & Safety brigade) it is not allowed to sweep it back onto the beach. It as to be taken away and appropriately disposed of.

In my own humble opinion this is the best place to photograph the Midland Hotel from. It seems to give the old lady a continental setting.

And finally....The Stone Jetty. Our favourite watering hole.
