Walk No.17
Lingmoor Fell
Date: 31st January 2007 Distance: 5.00 miles Ascent: 1517 feet Time: 3h 00m
Weather: Wet and very windy.
Route: We left the car at Elterwater and walked up through the quarries to access the fell.
A deserted car park at Elterwater. Even at this point I was thinking "what the hell are we doing here".
Elterwater village.
The bridge over Great Langdale Beck at Elterwater. Our path up through the quarries was over the bridge and turn right by the white cottage.
Once through the quarries we took a path to the disused Banks Quarry. Looking down to the Elterwater quarry.
Chapel Stile. From here onwards it was not possible to take any more pictures due to the rain.
Believe it or not but under there is Edith on the summit of Lingmoor Fell.
Dave on Lingmoor Fell. From the summit we decided to call it a day and returned to Elterwater by our outward route.
One of the old buildings left behind from the quarries.
Last Walk: 20th December 2006 -- Stone Arthur, Heron Pike and Nab Scar from Grasmere
