Route: We left the car at the New Dungeon Ghyll and took the path up to Stickle Tarn.

Stickle Tarn with Pavey Ark behind. From here we walked round to the right to get to the summit by what is known as the North Rake. It is not visible on this picture but it runs from the bottom right to the summit. The classic route up Pavey Ark is known as Jack's Rake. A route not for the faint hearted.

This skirts the summit of Thunacarr Knott which we would visit later and continues to High Raise. There is however a path to Sergeant Man which turns right just below the lowest part of the main path.
