Another short walk I'm afraid. My foot and hip are still causing me problems so I didn't want to push my luck. The weatherman had promised a bright start to the day with cloud later and rain by teatime. When we left home it was indeed bright but by the time we arrived at Colthouse it was quite a dull day with very restricted views.

The forecast had been for a bright start with cloud later then rain. However at 9am the clouds had already arrived.

We more or less followed the route in AW's Outlying Fells only in reverse. I didn't fancy the steeper descent from Latterbarrow with my hip problem so this was our way up.

Looking down on Hawkshead

Looking down across Windermere to Wansfell

and across to Sour Howes

Through a very muddy forest

Looking back to Latterbarrow across the deforested Old Intake

What a mess!!

The bridleway back to Colthouse

Lily Tarn

A tiny fall at the roadside near Colthouse

And finally back to the car.
