Shortly after leaving the car near the radio mast this view of Kentmer came into view.
The way ahead to the top of Cunswick Fell. Although the same ridge, the Cunswick side of the Underbarrow Road is more grassy than the Scout Scar side.
The clouds which were moving fairly quickly were constantly altering the views.
Getting there!
A view of the distant Howgills which were in and out of cloud as we walked towards the summit
Approaching the summit cairn on Cunswick Fell
Looking towards the Kentmere Fells from Cunswick Fell. The Reston Scar , in shadow is on the left with Staveley below it.
A quick close up of the Langdales which were also in and out of view.
A close up towards the head of Kentmere.
Looking back as we return to the radio mast
The Whinfell Ridge
A close up of the Whinfell Ridge
The shelter on Scout Scar
Close up of the Langdales
Looking south to Arnside Knott and Morecambe Bay
Barrowfield farm from where we turned around.
Scout Scar top with the Howgills in the distance
The Whinfell ridge from Scout Scar
Our return was along the scar edge
Not sure what this was about but whoever did it must have a good head for heights. There is a drop of a couple of hundred feet on the other side of the tree.
Sun on the Langdales.
Looking across to Cunswick Fell
And finally - back to the car
