We haven't stood on Nicky Nook for about 15 years so with it being a Bank Holiday and not wanting to get caught up in the Lake District fraffic we decided on the short journey to Scorton.

The Priory at Scorton. The vilage does not have an Inn but The Priory Inn which is actually a guest house, restaurant, tea room and as a public bar is a good place to visit.

Our route to Nicky Nook took us over the M6 which seemed particularly quiet for a Bank Holiday

We met up with this colourful chappie on our way

This picture shows the three reservoirs that we walked by today. In the bottom a glimpse of Grizedale Reservoir, to the left above is Grizedale Lea and to the right Barnacre Reservoir.

I'm not sure what this fine pillar is for but it offered good views

Descending to Grizedale Reservoir to takr the path to Fell End farm
