We hadn't intended having a walk today but decided to combine a short walk with a visit to Glasson Dock where the Lancaster Maritime Festival was being held over the Easter weekend.
The car park at Conder Green was full to the brim when we arrived. I just managed top squeeze in near to these chappies and an impatient young lady wanting to get going.
"Hey Mister!.......Can you get me out of here?"
"Leave him where he is Mister.....he's always poking his nose in where it's not wanted!"
The Stork at Conder Green
From Conder Green we took a series of field paths towards the Lancaster Canal at Galgate
Approaching Parkside Farm. Our route went through the farm-yard towards the trees
There was a brief hail shower as we walked up to the trees but it didn't seem to bother these youngsters.
Approaching the canal at Galgate
Galgate Marina
At the Glasson branch we turned right towards Glasson Dock
The church at Thurnham
Approaching the Mill Inn
Springtime.......This Cob and Pen were busy sorting a nest out as we passed
Arriving at Glasson Dock with Christ Church on the right
This was the 20th Lancaster Maritime Festival. It had been under threat but money was found at the last minute. This gentleman was showing the art of coracle building
"The Herring Experience" complete with mobile smokehouse
There were a number of artists singing mainly sea shanties
The Statues............or are they?
And finally......a walk back to Conder Green with Clougha Pike in the distance
