Although still not fit enough for the higher fells I was getting fed up with no walking so persuaded Edith that this short walk would be ok.

Reston Scar from Staveley

Looking past Craggy Plantation to Potter Fell

Kemp Tarn

Reston Scar summit complete with somebody's discarded orange peel.

Looking down to Fairbank Farm with the reservoir behind

The Coniston Fells

The Crinkle Crags and Bowfell on the left with Scafell behind and the Langdale Pikes to the right

Our way ahead to the summit of Hugill Fell with the High Street and Mardale Ill Bell in the distance

The Coniston Fells

Edith on the Wainwright summit of Hugill Fell. I was saddened to see that the delightful cairn had either toppled over or worse still been pushed over.
Below is how it looked on the 12th January 2008 when I was last here. Hopefully some kind soul will rebuild it before long.

Looking down into Kentmere

Looking across the valley to Brunt Knott

and across to Reston Scar

Descending into the valley

Small falls near Scroggs Bridge

Scroggs Bridge

The weir at Barley Bridge. I was surprised how little water was flowing over it.
