A few days previous to this walk our daughter-in-law Svetlana (Lana for short) had asked us if she could come with us. Our granddaughter Renee also wanted to come so we decided on the nearby Arnside Knott.
We left the car on the Arnside to Silverdale road near to Arnside Tower farm
and took the path through Arnside Knott wood
Dappled sunlight shines through the trees
Out into the open as we make our way to the viewpoint
Looking across the Kent estuary to Grange over Sands , but I seem to have lost the ladies
A short walk back finds them, but what are they up to?
Lana had spotted wild Strawberries........they were tasty to!
We are now at the viewpoint shown on the OS maps
Looking across the viaduct and estuary to Whitbarrow
Renne gets into David Bailey mode
On the way to the top
The "Lovers Tree"
Made it!!...It was quite warm by now so the ladies went for a sit down whilst I went to the southern edge
A look down to the farm
and down the bay to Heysham
Back at the summit to find the ladies taking a break
The promise of carrot cake followed by ice cream seemed to revive Renee as we descended to Redhills
It's been a while since we've seen Barry at the cafe
On our way into Arnside
Usually every other weekend throughout the summer but dependant on how much rain there as been
Arnside was very busy and the pub was doing a good trade
Walking along High Knott road to Redhills Wood we passed some big houses , probably Victorian
On the last leg as we enter Redhills Wood
"Anything good in there Lana?"
And finally .....back to the car
Next Walk: 12th June 2008 -- Swaledale Meadows and SWinner Gill from Muker
Last Walk: 7th June 2008 -- Gummer's How & Fell Foot park
