Just a very short walk today. My original intention had been to go up Warton Crag as I had a meeting in Carnforth at 1pm. However as we drove along the promenade at Morecambe the views across the bay were gorgeous so we decided on this walk instead.
A view to a distant Ingleborough from the car (17.75miles away)
Entering the Knott woods
Walking through the woods at the Eastern end of the Knott.
Looking dow Red Hills over the Kent Estuary.
Snowy Lakeland Fells. From L to R. The Fairfield Fells and Red Screes. Caudale Moor and the Far Eastern Fells.
Close up on the Fairfield Horseshoe and Red Screes.
The Far Easten Fells over Whitbarrow
The Coniston Fells.
The Howgill Fells over Haverbrack
The Whinfell Ridge
This is Wally who sat patiently whilst we chatted to his lady owner who was shortly going to walk Place Fell.
The Lovers Tree
At the viewpoint looking over to Grange and Hampsfell.
Looking directly into the sun as we descend towards Heathwaite.
With more time available we would have walked down Heathwaite but today is was the path ahead through the woods.
Emerging onto the road
And a short walk back to the car.
