Another fine & frosty morning although not quite as sunny as of late took us to Silverdale for this walk. A straightforward walk on good paths although Eaves Wood can be a little confusing for newcomers if you stray off the waymarked routes.

We left the car near the church in Silverdale and walked back through the village passing The Royal Hotel where we would partake later.

We took the field paths past Bank House farm to The Cove with views across the Kent estuary to Grang over Sands and Hampsfell.

Into the sun, looking down the bay to home.

Looking down on The Cove

Reflections from a muddy beach.

From the Cove we walked up the lane and along the road to the holiday park passing these young Alpacas which are members of the South American Camelid Family.

Lovely cottages as we make our way to ther holiday park.

On our way to the park we crossed from Lancashire into Cumbria to take a path through the park to Far Arnside.

Waymarked at the start the path crosses the fields towards Far Arnside and Heathwaite.

Arnside Knott & Heathwaite.

Approaching Far Arnside and the young Herdwicks are back for overwintering.

Passing by Hollins Farm to take the path up Heathwaite.

A short uphill walk leads us to the bridleway around the southern end of the Knott

A look back down the bay as we join the bridleway which we will follow down towards Arnside Tower.

An easy walk down takes us to the Arnside - Silverdale top road with a distant view of Tngleborough.

Farleton Fell and Holme Park Fell as we walk down to the farm.

Plenty of Christmas trees still available.

The farm and Knott as we walk up to Arnside Tower.

The old Pele tower of Arnside Knott

From the tower we climbed up to cross the top end of the holiday park on our way to Eaves Wood

A short climb brought us to the Pepper-pot overlooking Silverdale

Into the sun towards the hills of Bowland

And down the bay to home.

From the Pepper-Pot we took the path through the woods to the car park near The Row.

Beautiful mossy limestone puts any landscape gardener to shame

Out of the woods at The Row

There's only money and probably a reluctant seller stopping me from enquiring.

From the Row it was a simple walk across the fields back to Silverdale

Spot the Pepper-Pot?

A look back to Farleton Fell

Back to Silverdale and time for lunch.
