After leaving Kirkby Lonsdale I set off just with the intention of having a look how much water was coming down the River Kent at Force Bridge but as I travelled along the A65 it looked like Lakeland had lost its cloud cover to so I decided to carry on to Kendal and have this short walk along Cunswick Fell.

Having parked up at the top of the road within minutes I was out on the ridge and as I thought the views were quite good.

Looking in the direction of Middleton Fell near Kirkby Lonsdale.

With no rucsac and walking in trainers the progress even for me was quite brisk.

The Whinfell Ridge which lies between the A6 and M6 just north of Kendal.

There was the odd runner about but I had the place virtually to myself.

First views of the Coniston Fells.

Summit cairn on Cunswick Fell.

Coniston range.

The head of Langdale fells.

Beautiful Kentmere.

Humpy Howgills

With time moving on it was time to return.

A last look back.

Benson Knott with the Howgills behind

Back through the woods

And finally.....back to the car.
