It is eleven days since the slip on Sale Fell and I'm going stir crazy. I have been managing around the house without the crutches and have had very short walks outside with the aid of a walking pole. However it is a gorgeous morning and time to see how the ankle/knee responds to walking a wee bit further.

Having left the car in the NT car park we set off towards Howgraves but then decided to take the lower path to avoid the small climb. As always Wetherlam looked magnificent from this angle.

It's a gorgeous morning and it is so good to be out and moving, albeit slowly again.

The Langdale Pikes peek over Tom Heights as a group of locals enjoy an early breakfast.

A look along The Tarns.

A slight breeze made reflections but o cares we have the place virtually to ourselves.

It's a little more sheltered here and reflections are better.

Coniston Old Man and Wetherlam across The Tarns.

The well made path leaves the waters edge as it goes around the top of The Tarns.

We are now approaching the head of The Tarns where the feeder becks enter. For once the bench seat is unoccupied so I gave the knee/ankle a short rest.

Looking down The Tarns from the bench seat.

Off again, we make our way back down the other side.

The money tree.

Another short break, this time for a drink and Edith makes friend with a robin. She's probably getting more sense from it than she gets from me.

Back near the foot of The Tarns

Looking over towards Howgraves.

Back near the car park and I feel OK.

We walked past the car park along the road to Monk Coniston to walk up one of the small lumps on Tarn Hows Intake.

Wetherlam, Holme Fell and distant Langdales.

Looking over Tom Heights towards the Helvellyn Ridge

On the way home we stopped off at Coniston and after parking the car near the school we walked down to the lakeside.

It was lovely to see that the "new" Bluebird cafe was now open. Badly damaged in the November 2009 floods it as been rebuilt. It kept operating from a number of portakabins in the interim period.

After a brew and a cake we made our way back to the car via Coniston.

On our way home we stopped off at Brown Howe, one of my favourite places for views of Coniston Water.

That's all folks!!!....Hope you enjoyed the pictures, I certainly enjoyed taking them.
