As I was returning home from Arnside yesterday I was getting quite a few problems with my stomach. I have been suffering from "wind" for a day or two and I'm not sure whether it is due to new medication for my blood pressure or a bit of a bug. Either way I was in no condition to be travelling far and ideally needed a WC within a short distance. Having dined on a breakfast of two dry slices of toast and water we decided to take Harvey our sons boxer dog a short walk. With his "mum" away in Lithuania for a fortnight and our son unable to walk him because he twisted his ankle (like father, like son) a few days ago and is laid up.
Having picked Harvey up from our sons we walked down towards Half Moon Bay.
It's a lovely day and the tide is coming in as we look across the helicopter landing pad at the gas terminal.
Harvey is quite a character and like most boxers a total nutter!
Lakeland is visible across the bay but even with a nice breeze the views are still hazy.
Edith daren't let him off the lead, it could be hours before he came back.
The harbour and power stations.
You must have seen these views lots of times but it changes every time you walk the path.
A lone angler walks to the waters edge to try his luck. I hope he as an escape route worked out for when the tide rises.
These two prefer the rocks of Throbshaw Point with hazy Coniston views across the bay.
Looking over the sandy cove to Morecambe.
It's playtime!
And a brief moment of sanity.
I'm not sure who's enjoying it most.
We walked up into Chapel Wood where what daffodils there had been were coming to an end.....
.....to be replaced by the bluebells.
Behind the big, chiseled out rock a smaller one made which Harvey tried his best to empty.
St Peter's Church.
A quiet Main Street.
With my stomach problems we thought it wise to give the cafe a miss today.
One crazy dog.
On our way back now
