---------------------------------------------------------------

It as been over a fortnight since we have had a walk. The weather played its part in this but after the visit to the South Lakes Wild Animal Park Edith started with a bad cold. She gave me it for Valentines Day which was something different and it wasn't until today that we had felt like getting out. The intention as we left home was for a short easy walk around the Silverdale area to see how we felt but on arriving on the promenade at Morecambe the views across the bay were beautiful and plans were changed to do this short easy walk. It left us the option of also doing Scout Scar but that wasn't taken up as my breathing on even the easy slopes of Cunswick was bad and there was no point in knocking myself backwards.

Route Map.

The car was left on a piece of rough land near the transmitter. There is another car park a few yards on along the road if you should find this one full.

A short walk through a small copse and we were soon on the open fellside with a view of the Whinfell Ridge in the distance.

As we walked down to the wall corner we had a splendid view over Kendal Fell and Benson Knott towards the Howgills.

Well worth a close up I think.

Having reached the wall corner we turned N'wards  and the rest of our short walk was laid before us.

The Whinfell Ridge.

Ahead is the summit and the fells of Kentmere.

Once clear of the trees of Scar Wood the view to the west opens up.

The Coniston Fells...

....and the fells of Langdale.

Not far to go now but even on these gentle slopes my breathing is laboured and stops are frequent.

Summit views of the Coniston Fells....

...Crinkle Crags and Bowfell + Langdale Pikes.

Distant Fairfield Fells.

My beloved Kentmere.

Potter Fell.

Looking over Plumgarth and Burneside to the Whinfell Ridge....

...and over Mintsfeet to the Howgills....

...which deserve a close up.

A slightly different start to the route back..

....as we make our way to the other side of the ridge.

Now there's an idea!!!.....I'd probably need a shire horse for my weight though.

A wider view.

And finally...a last short climb back to the car.
