By myself once again today but not feeling 100% as the effect of the steroid injection wears off. Therefore I decided on a local flat walk around the Thurnham area. I had intended to walk further than I did but part way though the walk the day changed from bright & sunny although hazy to overcast and murky.
I left the car at the Picnic Site at Conder Green. As you can see it's a bright day but very hazy. Here I'm looking towards Galsson Dock with the River Lune and Overton to the right.
I walked back towards the main road with the River Con on my right. The bridge was originally part of the railway line between Glasson and Lancaster now a bridleway.
At the main road and The Stork. From here I made my way to the Glasson Branch of the Lancaster Canal.
A look back to where I've come from.

Bailey Bridge
Locks and Quays....That was a canal programme presented by Fred Talbot who also did a series of seven walks, one from each guide book in "Wainwright Country" for Granada TV in 2007 to celebrate the centenary of AW.
From here I walk a short distance along the canal before returning to cross the bridge and take the field paths to Upper Thurnham
A look over the hedging towards Sellerley
A group of local youngsters look curiously at the strange creature crossing their patch. By now the weather had quickly changed. The blue skies had been replaced with cloud and the haze had darkened to a murky mess.

From Thurnham I had intended walking down to the River Lune to follow the Lancashire Coastal Way back to Glasson Dock. However with the weather being so dull I decided to make my way back across the fields
This is very low lying land and the fields are criss crossed with a series of dykes and embankments
Back at the canal at Brows Bridge looking towards Glasson Dock.

The walk back to the picnic site was along the old railway trackbed although you can walk along the foreshore.
And finally............Back to the car.
