No summits today but a visit to two delightful tarns and also to Skelwith Force.

The River Brathay from where we left the car.

Cottages at Clappersgate

The lower section of the path up to Lily Tarn

Gaining some height to open the views out.

Looking s'wards into the sun down Windermere

Looking over Black Crag and Holme Fell to Wetherlam and a cloud-topped Coniston Old Man

To Latterbarrow and Claife Heights

Wansfell Pike and Ambleside

A small lily filled pool

Another unnamed pool with the Kentmere Fells in the distance

The Fairfield Horseshoe

Red Screes

Todd Crag

Lily Tarn

Looking along Little Langdale with the dip of the Wrynose Pass just right of centre

Making our way over towards Ivy Crag at the southern end of Loughrigg

Here we have joined the Ambleside to Langdale bridleway which will take us down to Loughrigg Tarn

The Langdale Pikes...we stopped awhile here to see if the sun would catch them

You guessed right!......It didn't

A badly sloping Loughrigg Tarn.....I do have a problem getting them level

Heading up to the Neaum Crag Holiday Park with Loughrigg across the tarn

The path down to Skelwith Bridge

Skelwith Force

Great food at Chesters but my pension don't stretch to there prices

Skelwith Bridge

Normally on this walk we return by the quiet lanes to Skelwith Fold but today we decided to use the permissive paths alongside the A593. Unfortunately the first section of the path is now closed because of a dispute over money between the landowner and the LDNP

The River Brathay from the footbridge near the church.

And finally....back to the car.
