A very dull day and a fair breeze didn't make this the best day to visit High Dam. Let the crowds go to Tarn Hows and leave this lovely spot to the few who visit. We only saw four people all the walk and two of those were from the LDNPA replacing the bobbin in the car park.
Shortly after leaving the car park the path splits the left hand path is the RoW the right hand a permissive path. Both join together later so take your pick.
We took the RoW path which climbs steadily
Before long we arrived at Low Dam
There was some reflections here but with the dull light were not too good
A few minutes more along the path brought us to High Dam which was catching the breeze.
We left the path to go into the Access Land to Scott Park Heights
However after a short while I decided to return to the main path around the tarn as my breathing wasn't too good
Back on the main path we continued around the tarn.
This was our highest point of the day. There is a seat here where we sat awhile.
As we walked around the western side of the tarn we found a few sheltered spots where there were a few reflections.
This is my favourite spot around the tarn
Returning along the permissive path
Back to the car park and the LDNPA workers had just finished replacing the Bobbin/Relief Map. Apparently water had found a way behind the wood causing it to swell and distort.
