I was still having problems with my breathing, due once again to the new blood pressure tablets I have to take so it was only another very short walk with little climbing.
Having left the car at the roadside we a short distance up the lane towards Spring Bank before taking the path on the left which would take us up to Fell End.
Below us was the golf course.
Gaining height with a view over the Leven estuary to Arnside Knott
Looking south down Morecambe Bay
Fell End cairn with the Fairfield Fells to its right
Looking over Cartmel and How Barrow to Ulverston and the Hoad
The Hoad in close up
Cloud topped Coniston Fells
Arnside Knott
The way ahead along the broad ridge
Almost there and time for a look back. We had come along the path on the right. Our return would be along the other path.
A section of limestone pavement.
A friendly cow smiles for the camera.
The Hospice on Hampsfell.....for more info and interior pictures click HERE
The Coniston fells remain under cloud
The distant Howgills however seem to be catching some sun.
Arnside Knott across the Levens estuary with a distant Ingleborough
It must be around noon as the Isle of Man boat is about to enter Heysham Harbour
Making our way back with Humphrey Head ahead and Blackpool Tower about a 1/3rd in from the right.
Sunlight on the Howgills
Descending to Spring Bank and the lane back to the car
A pleasant walk but a bit dull for good pictures.
