Low level walk days don't get much better than this. Easy paths, plenty to see and the most glorious of days to boot! When I am no longer able to do even the most simple of walks it will be days like these that I remember. In my early days of fellwalking the tops were viewed as a challenge...how many in a walk, how far, how much ascent. Later they became company where I could linger and relax. It would be a lie if I said I don't miss be able to get on them but on the the other hand these delicous little walks have more than compensated.

I haven't been too good of late, I fear my lung problems may be worsening and have started to interupt my sleep. However I couldn't miss a day such as this. A lot of huffing and puffing and plenty of stops but who cares....it was worth it!!

Approaching Stang End

A big bird flew by

From Slater Bridge we returned to the footbridge from where we took the bridleway towards High Tilberthwaite before cutting off to the left to Hodge Close.

We walked through Hodge Close to take the track to High Oxen Fell

All todays paths are easy to walk with only a couple of wall stiles.

High Oxen...from here we followed the lane to rejoin the A593 at High Cross

Gorgeous views along the way.

Back at the A593 and all that remains is to follow the path avoiding the road back to the car.

Amazing colours.....Looks like this young lady as been amongst the lads. :-)
